Sean Kelly put together the Family 5K Run for Food to benefit the FAFB for his Eagle Scout Project. At 8:00 am last Saturday the Canal Path/Heritage Trail in Downtown Fredericksburg came alive with runners. There were 160 registered runners with over 18 volunteers, including two of the City’s finest on bike patrol assisting as #81 Sarah Beth Jones crossed the finish line to win the race. Each one of the runners donated food as their entrance fee to participate in the race which resulted in 979 pounds of food collected or 816 meals back to the hungry of our community. Thank you Sean for hosting such a great race and for putting the Scout Oath into action to help so many from our community.
