Spinach’s Binomial name is Spinacia oleracea

Spinach is a rich source of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, magnesium, manganese, folate and iron. It is also a good sources of B vitamins riboflavin and vitamin B6, vitamin E, calcium, potassium and dietary fiber.

Fun Fact!

Queen Catherine de’ Medici of France fancied spinach so much, she insisted it be served at every meal. To this day, dishes made with spinach are known as “Florentine”, reflecting Catherine’s birth in Florence.
