AARP 2015 Food Drive Recognition Ceremony

AARP 2015 Food Drive Recognition Ceremony 2015-10-06 007
The AARP 2015 Food Drive was a great success raising 18,529 pounds of food and $1,133 dollars to benefit the hungry of our community. A very special thank you goes out to all the drivers, volunteers, chapter members and seniors that worked tirelessly to ensure that this 11 day cooperative food drive event raised as much food and funds as possible. The FRFB received over 12,500 pounds of food and $1,290 to provide almost 13,000 meals to the over 30,000 individuals, families and seniors in our region struggling with hunger and food insecurity every day. A very special thank you to the volunteers, Giant and this years co-chairs (pictured bottom left) Marietta D’Ostilio and (pictured center) Kathleen Holler for such a wonderful way to take care of our friends and neighbors.
This year's AARP Food Drive would not have been such a great success without the support and participation from all six local Giant Food stores. Last week several of the Giant Food managers attended the post food drive recognition event and pictured (from left to right) are Giant managers Dan Dillon, Shawn Conlin and Matt Cann receiving recognition for their efforts from this year's AARP Food Drive co-chairs Marietta D'Ostilio (at podium) and Kathleen Holler. Not pictured but equally important are Giant managers Jason Fulayter, Pat Goralski and Alisa Hundley.
