Legal Food Frenzy Winners

LegalFoodFrenzy_2017_color-01 (002)The FRFB would like to thank all the participants in this year’s Legal Food Frenzy for all their efforts on behalf of the hungry.   Together, enough food and funds from this event were collected to provide over 18,268 meals to the hungry of our community.  All participants were given points for the amount of food collected, funds collected, if they delivered the food/funds to the FRFB, early registration, and for volunteering.  When all the points were totaled the local top two winners from Planning District 16 are:

1st Place – Allen, Allen, Allen & Allen (Fredericksburg & Stafford Office) with a grand total of 8,328 points;

2nd Place – Hirschler Fleischer (Fredericksburg Office) with a grand total of 6,875 points;

3rd Place – Fredericksburg Public Defenders Office  with a grand total of 5,408 points;

4th Place – Fredericksburg Area Bar Association with a grand total of 5,000 points;

5th Place – Parrish, Snead, Franklin and Simpson with a grand total of 1,934 points; and

6th Place – Spotsylvania County Attorney Office with a grand total of 157 pounds.

Together these offices gathered enough food and funds to provide over 18,268 meals to help create a hunger-free community.  We thank each one of these offices for helping to double the number of meals provided this year over last year.  We want you to know how much this is needed and appreciated by those that are struggling and we thank you.

Stamp Out Hunger

SOH25thlogo-cmyk-1.jpgThe National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) is celebrating 25 years of providing food and hope for our community.  There are over 34,000 of our neighbors struggling with hunger every day.  So each year our letter carriers volunteer their time and effort to provide an easy way for everyone to help care for our community.
The 25th Annual Letter Carriers food drive is Saturday, May 13, 2017.  Watch your mailbox for the familiar postcard (provided by our friends and the Marine Corps Historic Half) and bright blue bag.  Fill your bag with non-perishable food and place by your mailbox on May 13th.  Your letter carrier will do the rest.
NEW this year, to make it even easier for our letter carriers to reach their goal of 75,000 meals for the community, we are hosting the Virtual Food Drive.
Use this link to log on and scan items from our most wanted list to provide to the FRFB.  It’s fun and easy!
Just think, you can shop from the comfort of your home and receive your tax receipt for your records…proof that you helped our carriers make this year the largest one day total of food collected.
Whether you donate with non-perishable items, or scan your donation through the NEW Online Virtual Food Drive, all food and funds stay right here to help our friends and neighbors because together, we can create a hunger free community.
