FAFB Receives $21,000 BJ’s Grant to Benefit our Partner Agencies
In celebration of 30 years of giving back to the community and in support of Hunger Action Month, BJ’s Charitable Foundation is providing 30 grants of $21,000 each to food banks to build agency capacity directly related to the acquisition, storage, and distribution of perishable food, through the purchase of tangible equipment/assets.
The FAFB is happy to announce as a recipient of one such grant that all 74 partner agency pantries and program partners will have the opportunity to directly benefit from this grant funding. See http://www.fredfood.org for more information during Hunger Action Month.
During the month of November over 2,700 turkeys were distributed to families in need by our partner agencies & program partners. In addition to those turkeys over 350,000 pounds of food & grocery items were distributed to those in need within our community.
The Fredericksburg Area Food Bank would like to say thank you to all of those within our community who donated items for Thanksgiving.
