Often when I meet someone they will ask me “what do you do?” I love telling them I work at the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank and we help feed thousands of hungry people every day. But I always tell them that what we do isn’t nearly as important as why we do it.
I tell them about Sarah’s parents….both working, but after the rent, utilities and other expenses are paid, they often don’t have enough left over to buy groceries.
I tell them about Bobby, who often goes home from school to a house without any food. At the Food Bank we help serve families in crisis by distributing food through local agencies and programs including emergency food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and elder care centers.
But we can’t do it alone. We need your help.
You can partner with the Food Bank and help make sure children, families and seniors in our community get the food they need. With every $10 donated, you can help provide enough food for 20 meals in our community.
Hungry children, seniors and families are why we do, what we do. This is such important work and you can be a part of it. Show your support today! Together we can solve hunger.
